Alistair Overeem TKOed Brett Rogers in the first round of their Strikeforce Heavy Artillery match-up.

Brett “The Grim” Rogers didn’t appear to learn anything from his loss to Fedor Emilianenko as he dropped his guard after some early kicks from Overeem. Overeem was then able to get him on the ground where the fight would stay for the final three minutes with Rogers just trying to limit the amount of damage he takes. Overeem eventually worked him to the cage, started setting up the guillotine choke before unleashing a torrent of heavy punches with Rogers unable to defend. (more…)

Strikeforce looks to the heavyweights in their stable to revive their fortunes after a very disappointing outing a month ago on Saturday May 14, 2010 at 10 PM ET on Showtime.

Out of all of their divisions, the heavyweight division is easily the most competitive one for the Strikeforce promotion, so this weekends event could be worthwhile with Alistair Overeem facing Brett Rogers and Antonio Silva facing Andrei Arlovski. (more…)
