Rampage-Evans: UFC 114 Highlight Video

It’s rather short, but the UFC put up a highlight video from UFC 114 headlined by Quinton Jackson and Rashad Evans.

Evans prevailed in a decision after controlling rounds one and two of the fight, but Jackson meted out some serious punishment in round three leaving the possibility of a rematch between these two fighters wide open.

As UFC 114 approaches we will be privileged to see Antônio Rogério Nogueira fight against Jason Brilz even though Nogueira’s original opponent was not able to face him. Nogueira was originally slated to take part in a Main Event fight against Forrest Griffin.

Nogueira is the heavy UFC 114 betting favorite at -675 while Brilz pays +475

Jason Brilz will have his hands full as he squares off against the Nogueira. Brilz has no doubt shown an ability to win matches in his career. In his 20 career matches he has won all but two of them and is 3-1 in his UFC fighting career. Though he has excelled up to this point in his young career, he has never faced a fighter of the caliber of Nogueira.

There is a definite advantage going to Antônio Rogério Nogueira as this fight approaches. There isn’t really anyone in the world who thinks that he can lose this fight. This has made many people question why he would even be paired up to fight against Brilz. There is nothing to gain with a victory over Brilz.

Brilz on the other hand has a unique opportunity to make his name known in the MMA world. If he is able to win this match his stock will soar with after the incredible upset. Even if he manages to just fight on the same level as Nogueira but comes up short, he will be seen as a much better fighter than most would have anticipated.

This is a match of David and Goliath here, but let’s not forget who won the original David and Goliath match.

Todd Duffee and Mike Russow will fight against each other in the upcoming UFC 114 event. This fight will be exciting as we get to see Todd Duffee challenged to his limits.

Duffee is listed as the heavy favorite in UFC odds at -325 while Russow has a lot to prove at +250, but he pays will if he’s able to pull off the upset.

Todd Duffee is undefeated so far in his career and is on track to become a contender for the title. He will not have an easy route, as he will have to go through Mike Russow, a solid UFC fighter.

Russow will definitely hold the advantage in terms of experience as the two square off against each other. Russow also has an ability to fight on the ground, which is different in comparison to many of the fighters that Duffee has seen so far.

All of these things taken into account, Duffee is one of the top prospects in the sport for a reason. He has shown an amazing ability to pound his opponents early and often. He has disposed of all of his opponents early on. If Russow makes it to the 2nd round, he will be the first fighter to do so against the powerful Duffee.

Russow will clearly be the underdog in this match, but he has the opportunity to shock many in this fight. Duffee is untested as he has not faced an opponent that could even touch him to do any damage. If Russow can secure some takedowns he will have the opportunity to show the world if Duffee has any kind of ground game. It is difficult to know what type of ground game Duffee is capable of at this point, as he has never really needed to use it yet.

Rampage Jackson and Rashad Evans express their love for each other ahead of their UFC 114 grudge match.

Michael Bisping and Dan Miller will face off at UFC 114. Both of these fighters are fairly experienced but employ very different techniques in order to take out their opponents. This fight looks to be a good one as the contrasting styles collide.

UFC 114 odds list Bisping as the favorite at -170 with Miller paying +140.

Michael Bisping uses his powerful kick boxing skills along with Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu to take out his opponents. In his career Bisping has managed to win 19 of his 22 career fights. He has not only won 19 fights, but he has usually done so in impressive fashion. He has recorded 12 knockouts in his career and 4 other submission victories. His powerful game is often just too much for his opponents to deal with.

Dan Miller has also found a lot of success in his career. He has managed to pull out victories in 11 of his 14 career matches thus far. He has won in a very different fashion than his opponent however. Seven of his eleven victories have come by submission, while only recording one knockout.

This matchup will come to whether or not Miller can get Bisping to the ground. Miller excels on the ground, but will not be able to compete with Bisping unless he takes advantage early. The longer the match goes on, the greater chance that Bisping has of wearing down Miller with his powerful attack.

This fight should provide a lot of excitement and promise as the two fighters display their varying skills in hopes to take this one away.

Quinton Jackson and Rashad Evans will square off against each other at UFC 114 in a highly anticipated matchup. These two fighters will be the Main Event for the UFC 114 event that takes place Saturday.

Evans is the UFC 114 betting favorite at -125, but Rampage is very close to even paying -105.

This matchup will bring a lot of excitement because of their past history against each other. This matchup will be a grudge match, meaning that the two fighters will be facing each other. There has been talk of this grudge match taking place at several different occasions so now that they match will actually materialize, emotions are running high and there is a large excitement surrounding the match.

Rashad Evans is known for his excellent wrestling skills. He has the ability to take out even the best fighters in the world when the fight goes to the ground and he will be focusing on getting the match to that point from the very beginning. Even though he is known for his wrestling skills, he does have a solid standup fighting technique and will be able to bide his time with those abilities.

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson is among the most powerful strikers for his size. He has the wrestling abilities that are superior to the vast majority of fighters out there, but he prefers to keep the fight in a standup game, as his boxing skills are amongst the best out there.

This fight should be exciting as these two stars face off. Whoever is able to set the tone of the fight early on may have the advantage in this 3 round bout.

Michael Bisping is looking to keep his UFC 114 fight with Dan Miller on his feet and get the knockout of the night. If it goes to the ground, Michael “The Count” Bisping is ready for the Jiu Jitsu master.

Rashad Evans and Quinton Jackson finally get a piece of each other at UFC 114.

After their standoff at UFC 96 when Evans had words with Rampage after Rampage defeated Evans team-mate Keith Jardine, MMA fans have been waiting for these two to have a go at each other.  Things only heated up during their spell as coaches during TUF season 10.

Michael Bisping and Dan Miller are the co-headliners at UFC 114 and they could well provide the fight of the night. Michael “The Count” Bisping likes to brawl and is willing to take a blow to land a blow. Dan Miller can stand with Bisping and he can take the fight to the mat and win it there.

UFC 114 odds list Evans as the favorite at -130 and Jackson close by at +100.

UFC 114 Predictions: Fighters’ Picks

The UFC asked their fighters at UFC 113 who they liked between Rashad Evans and Quinton Jackson at UFC 114. The results provided some pretty good insight.

Matt Mitrione and Johnny Hendricks like Rashad but only if he gets back to his wrestling roots and takes the fight out of Rampage’s comfort zone.

Marcus Davis knows both Rampage and Rashad and he thinks Rampage’s heart is in the movie business now. You might want to think about betting against Rampage or at least avoiding him until it’s obvious how seriously he is taking his MMA career.

The UFC 114 odds list Rashad Evans as the slight favorite at -115 with Rampage Jackson very close to even at -105.
