Welterweights Ben Askren and Dan Hornbuckle headline Bellator 22 in a battle between two submission specialists.

Hornbuckle is the Bellator odds favorite at -150 while Askren pays +120.

Ben Askren (2-0 Bellator, 5-0 MMA) is a former Olympic wrestler turned Mix Martial Artist. Askren trains his wrestling with the American Top Team and has added Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and kickboxing through the American Kickboxing Academy to help round out his fighting skills.

His biggest weakness is his standup game and he is going to have to continue working on it to go anywhere in MMA. Both of his Bellator wins have come against Ryan Thomas.

Dan Hornbuckle (2-0 Bellator, 21-2 MMA) is a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu fighter. He gets most of his wins by submission, but he is a KO threat and his stand-up shouldn’t be taken lightly.

Hornbuckle should be able to control the fight on his feet and match Askren on the ground. His biggest advantage, though, is his experience which should be evident when he sticks to his game-plan.
